  4. Writing was on the wall back in April. You know.......when they went out and got a 34 year old, beat up left tackle to protect there franchise QB. I'm hoping that next year they will realize how bad their O-line is. Maybe one day Angelo will realize that it's not always a bad idea to spend money on non-position players.
I also hope someone would let Lovie know that the Tampa 2 is a TAD outdated. One can hope.

  7. 1984: On May 9th, the White Sox win the longest game in AL history, 5-4, against the Milwaukee Brewers at Comiskey Park, when Harold Baines ends the two-day, 25-inning marathon with a Home Run. However, there were not many other highlights that season as the Sox finished in fifth Place with a disappointing 75-87 record.

  8. Can't blame 54 Urlacher for the season. The coaching staff needs to go, oh and an offensive line would help!

  10. MARK BUEHRLE WINS RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD®
Chicago White Sox left-handed pitcher Mark Buehrle has won his first career American League Rawlings Gold Glove Award®, becoming just the second pitcher in White Sox history to win the honor.

Buehrle, 30, joins left-hander Jim Kaat (1974-75) as the only White Sox pitching recipients of Major League Baseball's most prestigious fielding award. He also is the first Sox winner since third baseman Robin Ventura was honored five times from 1991-98. Current White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen also won a Gold Glove at shortstop in 1990.

  11. In 1917 The White Sox wore Red, White and Blue uniforms all season in a show of support to US forces that were fighting a World War in Europe. To further honor the troops the Sox decide to play "The Star Spangled Banner" prior to Game 1 at Comiskey Park. It was the first time the song was played before, a game and it would soon go on to be common practice.

To my Dad and my Son who served in the military ... Thank you ... To all those who served "God Bless You"

  12. 1985: In a game at Yankee Stadium on August 4th the White Sox must have been confused, as a stadium full of Mets fans came to cheer for the Sox. The reason was Tom Seaver who only needed to win the Sunday afternoon game to capture his 300th career win. Seaver was the Tom Terrific of old, and went the distance to earn his milestone. The day would go on to be known as milestone Sunday, after Rod Carew of the Angels delivered his 3,000th career hit. The Sox would go on to finish the season in third Place with an 85-77 record.
