For MTG Businesses

Got this from the good state rep himself. We are seeing this economy heading in the right direction, but we need businesses to get going to start bringing jobs back! Hope this helps!

State Rep. Kevin Joyce (D-35th) will sponsor a business needs workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 at Mt. Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) will provide a presentation regarding various resources available to local businesses to help them stay afloat during the current economic downturn.

Joyce’s workshop is open to all businesses free of charge. It will provide information on multiple topics, including veteran programs and the discounts available for hiring veterans; the work opportunity tax credit which can amount to a savings of $9,000 for hiring one individual; bonding acquisition for individual new hires; matching qualified candidates to employer job postings; finding out about summer and part-time employment opportunities for youth who are in school; information on how IDES offices can be utilized for new hire interviews, copying, faxing, computer access, telephone access and more; how to acquire secure and efficient methods for paying unemployment insurance and state withholding taxes; local wages, industry projections or current conditions of the labor force; and how to obtain free legal services at IDES and other useful information.
