Coming Soon to Mt. Greenwood... Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Parlor

Hello my good citizens of Mt.Greenwood, Boss here. My good friend who is a retired Polce Officer informed me about our soon to come Ben & Jerry's off 111th street.

In 1981 a man named Wesley Clark shot and killed Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in the back, then several times in the face. He did this in front of several witnesses, including his own brother. He was arrested while still holding the murder weapon in his hand and taken to the hospital to have a bullet, fired from Officer Faulkner's weapon, removed from his body. Despite 20 years of appeals, Wesley Clark (a.k.a. Mumia Abu Jamal) still sits on death row in Pennsylvania because 16 different judges have come to the shocking conclusion that he was indeed guilty and received a fair trial.

Ben Cohen, the "Ben" of "Ben and Jerry's", thinks otherwise. He not only signed his name to a petition calling for the release of "Mumia", but he made sure the words, "Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream" were right next to his name. Hey, it's a free country, you can support cop killers if you want, but the rest of us are free to refuse to purchase products from someone who not only supports a convicted cop killer, but made sure his company was noted as supporting a convicted cop killer.

You may ask, will I, the Boss ever buy ice cream from there??? Only if they make a Johnny Walker & Cohiba cigar flavored ice cream!! Now, GET TO BLOGGIN!!!

  1. actually, boss, he does not sit on death row anymore... A liberal judge threw out his death penalty and reduced him to life without parole... so now all the good taxpayers of Pennsylvania can feed this cop killing scumbag for the rest of his life while susan sarandon, tim robbins, the beastie boys et al continue to throw benefits in this losers name!!! Fuck this guy, and as far as I am concerned... FUCK BEN AND JERRYS!!! I have been boycotting their ice cream for years now, and suggest everyone ban together and run these cop killing supporters out of MTG!!!

  5. Hello people-

I have an opinion, shall I say comment. I remember In&Around posting about this very subject. Here is my take..............

Cop-killer supporters/Gun toting racists. Liberals/Conservatives. Hippies/Baby killers. Democrats/Republicans....BLAHBLAHBLAH. In my humble opinion the biggest point has not been made. Nooooooooooo,,,, I'm not talking about Jerry Garcia being a horrible musician who is deemed worthy of a flavor. I'm talking about this neighborhood.

My point is simple! Ben $ Jerry's is a CORPORATION. I cap-locked that one to grab the attention to all those moronic "DEAD-HEAD' fans that like arguing about the DEAD being anti-corporate. That's a whole other argument. Anywho, No matter what your opinion is on the Police, Corporations, Cop-killers, Political partys, it doesn't matter! The BIG ISSUE here is............SUPPORT YOU NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!!!!!

IN CASE ANYONE FORGOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE RAINBOW CONE..........RAINBOW CONE..............RAINBOW CONE. End of F##king story. Neighborhood people, running a neighborhood store. ENOUGH SAID, in my opinion.

I would think that would be enough. However, I just got done reading all the comments about Home-run In Pizza (which sucks by the way), so who knows? Here's a message for all those corporate patrons- You gave up on the local market, hardware store, convenient store, and hoping for the pizza place. For the love of Christ, partonize the local ice cream parlor. Reason being- IT'S LOCAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.----- You people have to be able to see this.

  10. Fuck these Communist Cock-Suckers and their Pussy Fruitcake ice-Cream.

  11. You have Rainbow, Gerties and JR Bozes, all neighborhood owned places. We should not support a buisness that has supported this cop killer. We have to many people in this neighborhood who put a badge on every day and go to work to support their families and their community. Please don't let this business move into our neighborhood and survive. Lets pull together and treat this business with the exact respect as they showed the family members of the slain Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. And support OUR NEIGHBORHOOD businesses, Rainbow, Gerties and JR Bozes. Please boycott Ben & Jeery's

  16. To the individual who said we should support the corporation of B&J, I ask why? They provide a portion of their sales to various causes, which is their right, including the defense of Abu Jamal.

The guy is as guilty as sin, and i support almost all liberal causes, but not this one.

Another supporter of Abu Jamal is the Paul Newman line of various food products. In fact, Newman had ALL profits from his food line donated to various liberal causes, including some I like.

He also donated, and his corporation still does, to the Abu Jamal defense fund. The Three Thousand Islands salad dressing was one of my favorites, until I found out he gave money to a cop killer.

So to the individual who said support them, i say, forget that. Like the other poster wrote, go down the street to the single owner ice cream palor.

  17. Hey left is best- how do you feel about conceal/carry?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I feel that concealed-carry of extra $20 and $50 dollar bills is the decent and correct option, especially around the Holiday Season of Good eCheer, so that poor underprivileged stick-up men who have to hold up our Citizens at gunpoint, could just be given a little extra, to help them through their troubling times.
