WHAT IN BLACK TAR-NATION???

Got a rather disturbing email from a reader. Said apparently there are plans in the making to put a methadone clinic on 111th! What we are being told is this was leaked out once before but quickly put to rest. We tried a couple times to reach out to Ald. Rugai's office but have had zero luck. The author wished to remain anonymous as apparently there are some political ties with this one. He or she claimed that the last time this was brought up it was vehemently denied by everyone involved, but has since been some closed door meetings and this may be moving forward faster than we would hope! The author basically said this is part of a pork barrel project that wont go away. That someone with clout wants this thing come hell or high water but not necessarily in his own back yard. We can only guess some store front revs from a few blocks east are the big push behind this one. So we here will try and keep you updated as we find anything out. But lets keep the pedal to the metal on this one!

  4. A former Alderman in the 35th Ward in the Logan Square area proposed putting parking meters on residential streets. Rumors at the "Hall" are that this idea is back on the table, to be proposed AFTER the upcoming Aldermanic elections. Any City residents who doesn't have off-street parking, are going to be paying parking fees when they are at home.

  7. Find out who has the clout and an empty building and you'll have your answer. Worked in a firehouse across the street from one in Roseland, and trust me you don't want one here.

  8. Put it next door to RUGAI'S Office, or better yet, IN her Office, in the rear. That way she and her hacks can keep their eyes on the Junkies.

  10. I heard our very own MtgCutie was locked up over New Years's. She got drunk and was kicking over the Nativity set in front of St.Christina Church. Custodial revealed some white rock like substance in her pocket. Typical white trash skank that only Mt.Greenwood breeds.

  15. Have some pride and rule your neighborhood!

Friday January 15th @ approx 3:15pm a seventeen year old African American/Hispanic man
attempted to enter or home in Mt. Greenwood. I call him a man, but state law changed January 1st to make 17 year olds juveniles.

My wife and kids were walking up the steps to enter the house and the perp was coming down our driveway
from our backyard (WE HAVE NO ALLEY!). We have not been in our backyard since the big snowfall, so his footprints were
the only ones and they clearly revealed that he tried entering our back door unsuccessfully.
Obviously we lock our doors wether we are home or not.
The perp is more than likely going to be convicted of criminal trespass at the very best and it is his first
offense. What was more disturbing is that he has been walking the neighborhood recently and casing homes.
Various people have mentioned seeing someone fitting his description.
This perp was lucky I was not home. I have a history of looking out for my neighbors whether I like them or don't and whether I know them or don't.
I have raised my voice, shouted obscenities and threatened people of suspicious nature on my block. Your neighbor gets robbed today, maybe it's you tomorrow. I am not suggesting people confront anyone as I would. Just simply do the following:

    1. YOU NEED TO CALL THE POLICE! Be politically correct and respectful on the phone. Mention that the person "looks suspicious" and what the person
    is exactly doing.

    2. YOU NEED TO PRESS CHARGES! My wife filed a complaint against this perp. It's true that justice is hardly ever served in these parts with the current Governor and other politicians and liberals. But pressing charges leaves a paper trail and a stain. It could result in more Police activity/protection in your area.

    3. TALK TO NEIGHBORS! Whether you like them or not, they can help you protect what is yours. Karma is a funny thing. And anyone you ever offend in trying to protect your house or neighbors' can be apologized to. It is much easier to apologize than it is to replace stolen items, repair damaged property, and possibly bury dead loved ones.

I may sound extreme. But that's fine as long as nothing extreme ever happens to myself, my family and friends and our property!

Please spread the word that this happened and Police have said juveniles have been working in crews with adults and have been hitting the Southwest Side. This is not a hoax or embellished. This is your wakeup call.

(They'll let a 16 year drive a vehicle, work a job, pay taxes, and drop out of high school legally. But they won't charge a seventeen year old as an adult! And tell Governor Quinn to keep the criminals locked up and raise our taxes. People should not get their panties in a bunch for $20-$100 of extra taxes a year if it guarantees criminals remain in jail and out of your neighborhood, stealing, dealing, raping and murdering.)

Thanks to the people who serve our country here and overseas...to neighbors who read this and lookout for one another.
Thank you for spreading the word and passing this on.

  16. My friend Megan lives on 110th and Artesian and her house got robbed on Christmas Eve. They broke in the back door with a crowbar and stole about $5000 worth of things. Her neighbor got robbed right across the street two weeks earlier. (She never knew that till the police told her.) There has been 6 break ins on Artesian alone because they can get in and out. Be aware. One of her friends was robbed twice in 6 months. Lock your doors, get a dog,get an alarm. Thats what the police told her. Tell your neighbors and look out for each other.

Our neighbors two doors down were broken into right in November (Sweeney's old house). Back door was kicked in and tons of expensive things were stolen. They've taken down their fence and replaced it with a stronger fence that locks from the inside. Husband left for work at noon and wife returned home at 2:30 pm, so this stuff is happening in broad daylight!

There was a garage break in on 104th Campbell in December, took snowblower, tools, lawnmower, and many misc. items.

If you or your neighbors have had your garage car or house broken into, let us know, if you see any suspicious people lurking around let us know. The more info we get out there to everyone in and around 60655,
