  1. I have several potholes on my street! The children are at risk because we now have to swerve to avoid them and could possibly strike a child. Not to mention my child has wiped out on his bike on one of them. It seems when I call the Aldercreature they blow it off. We need to flood the phones with complaints! I for one come spring will gather the neighbors and start calling. I suggest everyone do the same.

  2. Central Park from 103rd to 111th is a disaster. So is St. Louis 111th to 112th pl.

  5. If you don't live on Ginger's block, would you just deal with it. Look at the bright side of things, think of it as practicing for becoming a #1 Nascar Driver. Wait we could hire that west side man who decided to repair the pot holes on his block by himself. Probably would be less expensive or we can all take a class on street repairs.

  6. it is pathetic how bad the streets are in the 19th Ward, for as much as we pay in taxes. Time for a Tea-Party in front of Rugai's Office as soon as the weather gets warm.

  7. Thats nothing, in the 41st ward a sewer collapsed last February. In September a street sweeper got stuck in the hole making it even bigger. They had to bring a front end loader to lift the sweeper out of the hole. Requests to fix the now 4 foot deep hole were still ingnored. The neighboring 45th Ward Alderman was contacted and the sewr was repaired the following week.

  8. I would like to know how it is that both Rose Bilecki and her son Frank Bilecki are on the State of Illinois Comptrollers payrol. I thought the comptroller was not into patronage. Rose B. is the 19th ward Democratic committeewoman. Something stinks.

The city needs to do a traffic study of the whole Mt. Greenwood, Morgan Park, Beverly area. It's getting harder and harder to get around: train tracks, red lights, buses, a four-way stop on every corner, and blocks of traffic jams on 111th Street. These things do more than delay the average taxpayer; they delay police and fire first responders when we need them. And don't tell me that the police and fire have lights and sirens. Emergency equipment doesn't mean sh*t if people don't hear it or if they refuse to pull over.

And after the traffic study is done, the new alderman and the city need to make the recommended changes.

They're keeping them closed to force traffic to their camera controlled intersection on 111th. People in a hurry just keep racking up those $100 tickets....it's all about the money

I agree with you. Are the tracks done and they are now working on the overpass?

  13. At least everone can agree on 1 thing...we need a new alderman....not only a new alderman though,we need more NEW(mayor)/ - Honest people in government around here who care more for the community and not just lining their own pockets!!!...Hey boss...maybe you should give this one its own topic of interest!!!

  14. thanks to Rugai, we have consistently worse traffic problems in mt. Greenwood. More traffic fatalities, personal injury accidents, etc; And, the traffic circles she installed are UNSAFE...Many drivers don't know that you go around the circle counter-clockwise to make turns. I've almost been hit head-on about 4 times by drivers turning left without going around the circle, and turning directly into me, whn I was stopped, facing their driver side door, ready to go straight, or turn right. If and when this does happen, I'm having my attorney go right after Rugai, as there was NO driver training given to Anyone in Chicago, as to how to properly drive around these stupid traffic circles. BE CAREFUL!!
