NEW WALGREENS COMING not so soon TO A CORNER NEAR YOU!!!

28 comments:

  1. They have been promising a new Walgreens along with a small shopping plaza that included a Starbucks for years now at 111th and Kedzie.

I think Ginger's "street tax" may have killed the deal.

  3. That fucking Rugai is at it again!!!! WHERE IS ALL MY TAX MONEY GOING???????????

  4. The Walgreens and the Starbucks will be there but that is about all.

Plans for a bank to run west from the Walgreens....scrapped

Plans to knock down the old vacuum and camera stores, north of Walgreens, and build shops...scrapped

Those two stores will be "remodled" and new tenants found. They look like crap sitting there empty the past year or more. Same thing with the empty hair salon next to Walgreens that had to leave.

Rugai waited tooooo long to start the project and now they say the economy is too bad to get the funding.

Just another example of how Mount Greenwood gets screwed while Western ave. in Beverly pretty much gets what it wants.

Who is to blame? The voters in Mount Greenwood who continue to vote for those Beverly residents that could give a rat's ass about the west ernd of the ward.

  5. Do we really NEED a business district in Mt Greenwood? Maybe it should all be re-zoned.

And "leftisthebest" should drive down Western ave. Lots of empty storefronts in Bev too.

The economy is in the shitter and we are wondering where our Starbucks is?

  6. The bad thing about this project is that they keep coming up with excuses, withouT telling us the truth. It's always ready to get off the ground around election time. THIS IS THE BIGGEST RUNNING JOKE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

  7. We need a new hamburger place, like a Steak -N- Shake or Culvers in our area....Also, how about a Papa Johns? Good franchises with decent food...they build everything else out here!!!

  8. Why don't they dump the $1 million earmarked for the Salvation Army Building sale that failed for a RUGAI- JOYCE Community Center at 111th and Kedzie. A big plague out front for all to see. OH wait wasn't 115th and Western supposed to be that? What were the campaign promises made last election?

  11. Thatb appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The raid a few days earlier in the 3100 block of W. 107th st. resulted in 11 guns, four bags of marijuana and about a dozen marijunana plants the resident had growing in his attic. Police raided the house with a search warrant.

  12. How the hell did the CPS and Ald. Rugai let the Salvation Army building get sold without anyone knowing about it? At least thats what they want us to believe.

    ReplyDelete
  13. What does the CPS have to do with S.A building being sold?

  14. Time to vote Rugai out and get someone in as 19th Ward Aolderman who isn't connected and beholden to the usual Democ-RAT City hall Cabal of criminals.

  15. I am tired of being taxed, ticketed and taken for a ride with no contract for almost 3 years!

  16. The S.A. building could have been used to ease the overcrowding at M.G.S.

  17. LOOKS LIKE BEN & JERRY'S WILL BE OPENING SOON TOO. GET READY TO BOYCOTT THESE POLICE-HATING COMMUNISTS IF YOU ARE FROM A POLICE FAMILY. THEY ARE NO-F'N GOOD. GO DOWN THE STREET FOR ICE CREAM, OR TO THE SUBURBS.

  18. BEN & JERRY'S HAS BEEN OWNED BY UNILEVER SINCE AUGUST 3, 2000.

    ReplyDelete
  19. EVEN IF BEN & JERRY'S IS OWNED BY UNILEVER COMPANY, THEY, THE 2 OLD HIPPY-COMMIE-POLICE HATERS, BEN AND JERRY, STILL GET THE MAJORITY OF THE ROYALTIES FOR THE NAME AND SALES OF THEIR PRODUCT. TYPICAL SNAKEY LIB-COMMIES, GET A BAD REPUTATION FOR THEIR SOCIALIST AGENDA, THEN TRY TO HIDE IT SOMEHOW.

  20. Stick up for Ben & Jerry's if you want to, but first check out this link for the called for by Fraternal Order of Police Boycott of Ben and Jerry's, and others, for their full support of a Philly Cop-Killer.
    I'll eat ice-cream anywhere, except Ben&Jerry's.

  22. Please put a Payless or other shoe store on 111th. Reg. shoes at reg prices that don't have to be ordered. An athletic shoe store would be nice too. With the huge number of sports activites here in Mt Greenwood, it would be a profitable store.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Payless? Might as well get an Aldi too, and all the getto stores

    ReplyDelete
  24. Payless ghetto? NOT. Much better than the stores we have now.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I for one thonk that the old camera and vaccum shops should be a new black church along with a soul food resturant, what do other readers here think.

    ReplyDelete
  26. A reasonable shoe store with current styles and not just children's shoes would be nice. Payless would be nice in the camera store building. We definitely need sports shoes store too! Not to worry though, I still shop the suburbs 1st.

  28. Trader Joe's would be awesome!
