  3. I have noticed that many of the local businesses have been forced to erect black iron fences around their properties. I have also noticed that several local businesses didnt have to. Walgreens, white Hen, The Private bank,
    Does anyone know why?

  4. the fence deal is some type of City Ordinance or similar Boss, it aplies to certain buildings like condo buildings, apartment complexes, etc. I think.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I would respectfully suggest that before you cast aspersions on others you should probably look into your own grammatical faults. A course in basic literacy could be helpful to you. While I understand that I am not perfect, I can see that you are a BLITHERING IMBECILE!

P.S. In the interest of full disclosure, I am not a "narrow back" or from Canryville. I just cannot stand pompous jerkoffs!

    Signed,
    A Proud Wilmette Resident

  15. Hey the folks at Keller are up in arms.

The Board of Education wants to relocate Keller kids to another school and use that building for overcrowding at Mount Greenwood.

The Keller parents are up in arms (naturally) and are trying to say it is a "neighborhood school" and lumping Mount Greenwood and Beverly kids into the same group as "neighborhood kids."

You know if Beverly people wanted something in their neighborhood they could care less of Mount Greenwood. Think they would allow one of their schools to help Mount Greenwood?

If Mount Greenwood is overcrowded the Keller building should be used for neighborhood kids. A gifted program (like Keller) can be held anywhere.

  16. Huh? A proud Wilmette resident reading/contributing to the 60655 blog? Ha ha ha. We're being spied upon by the f'in cake-eaters!! I kid, I kid. Used to have family there, lovely area. Bozo the drunken clown lived up there if I'm not mistaken.

  17. I agree. Mt Greenwood needs to look out for Mt Greenwood taxpayers. Beverly does not host any of our children in their schools. This is a good move for the neighborhood. The gifted program can move anywhere, our students cannot. Finally, we are being spoken up for.

  19. to ms. Wilmette, i beleive that you are a Obama suppoter that cant accept any critisim of your community if thruth be known you are above average in income and education but also a leader in spousal abuse and alcoholism not to mention the old fools that have girl friends downtown that laugh at them behind their backs, so get with it and by the way your kids are into drugs big time.

  21. The Bev folks who have kids attending Keller are trying to use Mount GHreenwood to win when they could care less for us.

  22. The tax bills are 55% instead of the normal 50% so you won't notice the increase they're planning to stick to those that bother to pay their taxes, even changed the state law to do it. Dept of Revenue agents are out here because of the high percentage of city workers out here that they can make pay any tickets handed out by holding their jobs over their heads. The cops are suffering month 32 with no contract, so they won't write parkers in their own hood. The fences? Mayor Shortshanks want to provide business to the connected few. Got a problem wit dat, youse? And Keller should have never been built in 60655. Keller pulls students from a big area. The northern border was 35th st. The Board of Education owns buildings larger than this building standing empty [millions of square feet, in fact] but insiders wanted those sites to build housing for the olympics, so we got stuck with the bus traffic and the blocking of our driveways by the few dozen concerned parents that don't trust the bus companies.
Remember to vote... be sure to vote for all the incumbants [you wouldn't want to get any smart @ss that might demand city services in line with our taxes].

  23. Well, Ginger has caved into the Beverly people, again. Into today's Southtown she states she will fight the move of Keller.

WHEN WILL THE PEOPLE OF MOUNT GREENWOOD WAKE UP AND REALIZE SHE CARES NOT FOR US?

Every election she is returned to office with big vote totals from Mount Greenwood. Our schools can be overcrowded but Beverly can send their kids over here and we have to jump through hoops?

  24. The black wrought iron fences that are going up all over MG are thought to be a crime deterrent....What does that tell you? There is no ordinance to install them...

  27. To 2:35 p.m.:

In fact there is an ordinance requiring these iron fences. Daley pushed it through a few years back. And guess what? Only a few companies can meet the specifics to have them installed. Guess who they are hooked up to?

The mayor did it not for crime prevention but he said for asthetics (spelling?). That is why when you look at some business they have an iron fence only a few yards long. They did it because the city ordered them.
