  1. I just wanted to let everyone know about a great Mount Greenwood business. Posh Pet Day Spa is a wonderful family owned business right on 111th Street. We take our dog there several days a week for daycare and also get her groomed there. They are all wonderful people and my dog is always happy to go there so you know she has to be treated well. They are also very affordable. It is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it.

  2. Hey, what's going on at Marist? Came by there today at dismissal time. No police anywhere in sight. I thought all the high schools were supposed to have police on hand at dismissal to prevent gang violence!

  3. I remember watching Dukes of Hazzard when I was a kid. I don't remember Boss Hog being agile, or svelte enough to have his head up his ass.

Good to have you back my man

  4. I agree w/ the posh pets comment. Except for the daycare thing. Really? Are you the same person that calls their dog, my child, or come to mommy/daddy? I got a great doggy daycare plan.......Get another f##king dog. The whole doggy daycare thing is just weird to me. Although, I do find it interesting that people who babysit dogs, make the same amount of $ as the people who babysit our kids. Maybe Hillary was right...it does take a village...........filled with dog poop

  6. I hear the Ag School wil have to take 40% of the kids form the neighborhood and that siblings will now get preference. I hope the neigborhood takes over that school.

  13. If my wife wasn't on her way to work she probably would have chased them and ran them down ...little assholes!!! 2 nice dents in the passenger door...and almost broke the window!!!
She knows they were from St Rita(as I said probably copper/firemans kids)because they had the jackets . This occurred by the block east of St. Xaviers on the side by the Catholic grammar school...she said they all came running out of gangways...and just started "attacking"...she was so shook up-she couldn't believe it!Obviously they were just looking for anyone driving by at that hr.(3AM)

That's because all the police resources are being utilized on the west side, and south side schools like Robeson, and Harper. I know because I'm working this crap detail now and again.

  16. Five Chicago neighborhoods, Humboldt Park, Pilsen, Auburn Gresham, Chicago Lawn and Englewood will soon be getting free highspeed internet access to go along with all of the other tax absorbing freebies they already leach from the taxpayers. Everyone keep working your 2nd and 3rd jobs, these demacrats need more of your tax dollars to spread around to the breeders and illegals. Hope and change, ain't it great!

  18. I think too much blame goes to the africanus americanus when it comes to them abusing the system. Majority of blame falls on the politians that allow it.

  19. AB cleaners (formerly Mt. Greenwood cleaners) on 111th/between Drake/Central Pk. SUCKS!! DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS THERE!!!

They ruined my suede coat. After it was destroyed, they gave me the run around every time I called them, until they finally came clean (no pun intended). This took about a month. An employee from the store offered to reimburse me, not 100%, but $175. Of course when the check was supposed to be in, they don't call me. Again I have to chase them down, only this time I have to speak with the owner. We know what that means. Of course he doesn't want to pay, and by his "math" a 2 year old, $200 coat is worth $20.

Eventually, after a spirited debate in which he more or less calls me a liar regarding the age of the coat, and insinuates that something like battery acid must have been spilled on it for it to fall apart that way it did, because we all put on suede coats and work on batteries, right? He eventually relents, pulls out a wad of cash and gives me $125 ($90 when account for the orig. cleaning fee). What an insult. SCREW THEM!!!.

It's a shame, because I live around the corner and always try to shop in MG first, but to hell with that place.

Make a Police report for Criminal Damage to Vehicle, maybe a video surveillance camera in the area has the incident and the offenders on video. Good Luck.

  22. The kids pelting cars with snowballs like to hang out in Mt Greenwood Park halfway between 111th & the stop sign at 113th. Walking past there the other day I saw about 25-30 of them, calling out which car to hit - they were such a bunch of pussies they only targeted women drivers. When a car would stop and the driver got out, the brave little assholes would run north and west into the park, screaming "Fuck you asshole!" to the driver. My question is: Where are the parents of these POS? If your kid is one of these creeps, aren't you so proud?

They threw a bunch of snowballs at a mail carrier driving past. He drove his vehicle right into the park, grabbed two of these animals, and called for the police. If one of these bastards ever hits my wife or daughter's car, I won't hold them for the police.

  23. I would contact Fr. McCarthy at St. Rita and let him know how his school is being portrayed in the neighborhood. After the whole debacle with the St Rita kids beating up that man coming from Q of M a few years back, I think Fr would be interested in hearing this.

  24. Let's make the Ag school our neighborhood school. Send your kids there it will go the way of Mt.Greenwood grammer school. Save your money for your kids college, you'll need it. this is why we pay property taxes....

  27. I agree that we need to take over the AG School. We took Mt. Greenwood elementary back, let's do the same with the AG. High School is way to expensive especially if you have more than one kid. We deserve a high school in our neighborhood.

  28. Just to follow - up comment on AB Cleaners. I brought my comforter there to be cleaned and when I picked it up (which of course they had me pay prior to bringing it out to me), the comforter was covered front and back with black hair. We don't own any animals and I refused to leave with the comforter in that condition. I told the woman that we don't have any pets and that the comforter was dirtier when I picked it up than when I dropped it off. she did offer to clean it again, but I really couldn't put it on my bed even after I picked it up the second time. I stopped supporting their business a long time ago.....

  29. Has anyone used the cleaners on Kedzie by the video store?? How are they?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haven't used that one, but the cleaners on 115th off Kedzie by the car wash ruined one of my coats and refused to admit fault and wouldn't reimburse me a penny. AND guess what....I still had to pay for the cleaning.

  31. The cleaners on Kedzie by the video store is great. They may be a little pricey compared to the new "dollar" cleaners but they do great work there. I had my wedding dress preserved there as well and was very happy. We have also had shoes, bags, zippers, etc. repaired there and they did a great job.

  32. The Cleaners at 106th and Kedzie recently replaced a zipper on my boot and did a bang up job. I've heard nothing but good things about their work.

  33. The cleaners on 107th and Pulaski was always my favorite. I'm retired and out of state now. MTG Cleaners had done a number on one of my winter coats so I tried the pulaski cleaners. They also tailor very inexpensively and are a charming couple.
