Hey folks... Boss here... As you can tell by the lack of posts I have been doing alot of thinking about this blog. I apologize to those who have been looking here for new neighborhood information. I have received an outpouring of support and kind words. For that I say Thank You from the bottom of this old heart! I will decide the fate of the blog in the next day or two. Whether it be to continue, fold, or pass it on to someone else. Maybe I overreacted, maybe I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, or perhaps I had just had a bit too much Scotch on the evening of the 13th but whatever it was, at the time shutting it down felt like the right thing to do. Since then, the daily views have exploded and the comments section has blown up and it has forced me to reconsider what I originally thought was the right thing to do. So keep checking back and Ill have a decision real soon! Thanks for all the 60655 support!!!
To the idiot who tried posting a message about the IP addresses I say this to you. Both me and my good friend Jim McMahon are a little wiser than you think. Sure, I can't get your home address of your computer but everything has been documented including the threat you sent me. So whether you are doing it from home or somewhere else it does not matter. That is what my brother in the D unit is for. And YES, HE will be able to get the IP location and name attached to it since you were stupid enough to threaten me. I do know you do not even reside in the 60655 area along with some other info about you. So we will see what happens. Freedom of speech does not apply when a threat is involved, that would be an assault. Funny you should mention SCC blog because I gave him your IP address. You post on SCC quite frequently don't you? I'm guessing Police Officer or Firefighter?? Either one it will NOT be good to be named in a case report. You made your bed now you can sleep in it jackass.
ReplyDeleteI hope you keep this blog open. I did post more on the old blog but it was mostly in the open comments section. I would recommend having one of those. Some people do not want to post stuff that is irrelevant to the topic. I will keep reading as long as you keep posting!
ReplyDeleteI just got the link for the blog this morning and am happy to see something new since inandaround shut down. I didn't comment often, but appreciated the subjects and comments from within the neighborhood. Sooo...after reading this I wanted to share with you that a threat over e-mail/internet is a federal offense and the person CAN be tracked. To keep a long story short, an ex employee that was fired from my company sent me a threat. They thought they would be creative and use an untraceable e-mail account, but they were tracked immediately to the computer they were sitting at in the library and prosecuted. If this person is sending from home....even easier! The authorities take things like this very seriously!
ReplyDeleteJust heard some guy tried robbed a Baracco's delivery guy and stole the truck too. Cops all around EP, Holy Rediemer is on locked down too. Lock your doors.

ReplyDeleteWow! I don't check in for a few days and upon my return see that all hell has broken loose! Don't quit, Boss. You're great at this and the neighborhood is better for it! I stop by all the time, but don't comment a lot because I don't have anything worthwhile to contribute. However, when it is something that I have an opinion or knowledge about, I LOVE to share. Who doesn't?
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind, too, that it IS the crazy-busy holiday crunch time. I'm sure many are like me in that I don't have time to pick my butt let alone peruse a blog! All of the shopping, wrapping, decorating, baking, work parties, getting kids to class parties, Girl Scout parties, a husband that requires feeding and attention, outside lights that Oh crap-just burned out again! and oh yeah- that pesky little full-time job! Please hang in there- I'd really hate to see you move on and I doubt it would be as good if you pass the torch to someone else. And about the jack-ass that keeps sending BS- I'm sure I'm only one of many, many CPD Mt.Greenwood residents that would be more than happy to lock him up!! Just say the word and I'll take care of him. Next week would be good--throw a little PMS into the above list of daily stress and he will be one sorry little computer nerd. Hang in there, Boss!!
It's me again, the over-scheduled mom with a gun... One more thing I wanted to say- the look of the blog is fine. No changes necessary. I doubt that has anything to do with anything. If someone really digs Shaved, great, but I personally like this look much better (and content, too, for that matter). And also, just so you know, I voted to keep the song. Thanks for all the time you put into this :)
